Restoration company, Las Vegas

5/31/2019 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas likes to educate people on what we do. Recently a customer asked “Why do you call yourself a restoration company if you do not do the build back as well?" In this blog we will tell you how a water mitigation company restores a property.  For example, when a water loss floods a property and the framing to the property becomes wet, SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas needs to make sure we get the framing back to its dry down standard. Another way of saying it is that SERVPRO needs to restore the framing to its dry down standard (what it was before it got wet).  SERVPRO’s goal is to restore as much material as we can and prevent secondary issues (mold).  When the structure is dry and the damaged material is removed, then the dwelling is ready for a contractor to put the removed damaged material back where it goes.

1/13/2019 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas specializes in the cleanup of Fire and Water Damage. A lot of people do not realize that we also specialize in the proper remediation of mold. Our technicians are trained and tested to correctly remediate mold. To verify our remediation, a post testing is completed by a licensed environmentalist and if SERVPRO does not pass, because of lack of cleaning, then SERVPRO will re-clean the area until it passes, free of charge. The attached photo shows an air scrubber at a property. The homeowner had a water damage which was not reported for a couple weeks, finally when the homeowner called SERVPRO, SERVPRO found mold. Our crew immediately contained the area and placed and air scrubber inside the containment and outside the containment. The photo is of the air scrubber outside the containment. In some scenarios to ensure that any air-born spore outside the protected area was captured SERVPRO will place an air scrubber outside the containment as well.

This photo shows our air mover and dehumidifier on a water loss.

Las Vegas has some interesting water. We actually have such hard water then over a less period of time this hard water can corrode pipes, angle stops, water heaters and valves we use on a daily.  When pipes get corroded they burst causing sometimes massive amounts of water. This is one of our air movers we use, with a dehumidifier, to help with the dry down.  It is very important to have the right equipment and most important to know how to use it. SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas has the skill and ability to handle any kind of loss and any size.  With proper dry down from trained professionals we can stop secondary damages and more importantly get your place back to where it was before.

This photo shows the containment set up around the most effected area.

In some cases we can save areas from being demoed. This can be done if the homeowner calls us the day they find the loss and if we are working with a clean water source.  The homeowner in this situation worked all day and got home to a huge amount of water.  Rather than waiting for the next day he called SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas and we came out that same night and started the cleanup process. In the photo it shows a containment used to save multiple areas from being demoed.  With the containment we were able to focus on the most wet areas. Because we got out on site fast and because of the experience of our crew we were able to save a lot of money and time for the project because we didn't need a contractor to come in and rebuild.
